Who they were

Veronica O'Brien brought the Legion of Mary to Belgium and France, was for decades a spiritual adviser to King Baudouin and to Cardinal Suenens, and founded the FIAT lay apostolic movement in 1984.

The miracles

No miracle has been approved. The cause is at its first stage.

Why that counted as sanctity

Cardinal Jozef De Kesel opened her beatification cause in the Archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels in 2022; the diocesan phase closed on 8 September 2026.

The cause

Veronica O'Brien is named a Servant of God; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: The cause of Veronica O'Brien.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
