Who they were
Brother Virginio Pedro (Vicente López y López) was born at Miraveche, in the province of Burgos, in October 1884, and made his perpetual profession as a Brother of the Christian Schools in 1912. He taught and directed several schools, and in September 1935 was sent to the school of Santa Susana in Madrid. He was killed in July 1936; the Church's decree says he died while trying to protect the Blessed Sacrament.
Pope Benedict XVI declared him a martyr in 2011, and he was beatified at Tarragona on 13 October 2013 with his companions.

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
One of sixteen De La Salle Brothers killed in Madrid in the religious persecution of 1936-1937, beatified as martyrs in 2013.
