Who they were
Vicenta María López y Vicuña was born in Navarre on 24 March 1847 into a noble, Christian family; her mother, a priest uncle and a religious aunt left their mark on her, and she felt God's call when very young.
She founded and spread the Daughters of Mary Immaculate to give spiritual and material help to young women living away from their families as domestic servants.
