A doctor before he became a Barnabite priest, he kept practising medicine for the poor; his body rests in the Barnabite church at S. Felice a Cancello (Caserta).

Why that counted as sanctity
The Barnabite order names him Venerable — Pope John Paul II promulgated the decree on his heroic virtues on 21 December 1992 — and publishes a prayer asking his intercession against epidemic.
