Vitus of Pontida

Who they were

At Pontida in the province of Bergamo, Saints Albert and Vitus, monks, of whom the first set the service of Christ before arms and the honours of the world and founded in his own town a monastery modelled on the customs of Cluny, which the second governed.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 2 September as a monk at Pontida near Bergamo who governed the monastery founded there by Saint Albert.
