Who they were

At Salaníca in the province of Vicenza, Saint Theobald, priest and hermit, who, born of the counts of Champagne in France, together with his friend Walter preferred to honours and riches the pilgrimages undertaken for Christ, poverty and solitude.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 30 June as the friend of Saint Theobald who preferred pilgrimage for Christ, poverty and solitude to honours and riches.
