Who they were
Wanda Malczewska was a Polish laywoman who taught village children to read, trained in basic medicine to nurse the sick and organised a hospital for the wounded during the January Uprising, spending her last years at Parzno.

Why that counted as sanctity
The informative process began in 1929 and was resumed by the archdiocese of Łódź, which now calls her Venerable Servant of God after the decree on her heroic virtues.
