Wilhelm Pluta
Polish bishop of Gorzów who rebuilt Church life in the western territories
Who they were
Pluta was born at Kochłowice near Katowice in 1910, ordained in 1934, and led the Gorzów church administration and later the diocese for three decades, dying in a road accident in 1986.

Why that counted as sanctity
The nihil obstat came on 3 November 2001 and the diocesan process opened on 21 January 2002; on the fortieth anniversary of his death in January 2026 the faithful of Zielona Góra-Gorzów prayed in Gorzów cathedral for the beatification of the Servant of God.
