At Avignonet near Toulouse in France, Blessed William Arnaud and ten companions, who, united in the work of opposing the heresy of the Cathars, were arrested by a trick on account of their faith in Christ and their obedience to the Church of Rome, and died run through by the sword on the night of the Lord's Ascension, while they sang the Te Deum with one voice.
