Who they were
Vincent Kadłubek, of a rich Polish family, was a master of learning and in 1208 became Bishop of Cracow, working for the reform of clergy and people and helping the religious houses. He wrote a chronicle of Poland.
In 1218 he resigned and became the first Pole to take the Cistercian habit, at Jędrzejów, where he lived in retirement until his death on 8 March 1223.
The miracles
Pope Clement XIII ratified the honour paid to him on 18 February 1764.
