Who they were
Winnoc, probably of British origin, came with three companions to St Bertin's monastery at Sithiu and was sent to found a priory at Wormhoult.
In old age he is said to have been helped by heaven in grinding corn for his brethren and the poor. Many miracles followed his death on 6 November, 716 or 717.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
