Wulfstan
bishop of Worcester and saint
Feast: 20 January (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
Wulfstan, educated at Evesham and Peterborough, overcame the temptations of his youth, was ordained about 1038, refused preferment and became a monk and then prior of Worcester, known for charity and holiness.
Consecrated Bishop of Worcester in 1062, he gave his whole life to his diocese, visiting, preaching and building churches, praying the Psalms even as he rode. He died at Worcester on 19 January 1095.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
