Who they were
Joseph Nguyễn Văn Lựu was a Vietnamese catechist. The Dicastery for the Causes of Saints lists him among the martyrs of Vietnam, dying on 2 May 1854.
Pius X's letter of beatification of 1909 names him among those who were driven into exile for the faith and died of hunger, thirst and hardship. He was canonised with the martyrs of Vietnam in 1988.
