Who they were
Zdislava Berka was born around 1215 in Moravia, daughter of the burgrave of Brno and of Sibylla, a Sicilian noblewoman who had come to Bohemia as a lady-in-waiting. At seventeen she married Havel, lord of Lemberk castle near Jablonné.
A wife and mother of four and a member of the Third Order of St Dominic, she was a great comfort to the afflicted. She died at 37 in 1252 and was buried in the friary at Jablonné.
