Zofia Czeska
Polish-Lithuanian nun

Who they were
Zofia Czeska was born in 1584 to a high-ranking family and grew up on its estates between Kraków and Sandomierz. At sixteen she was married to the nobleman Jan Czeski; after only six years she was widowed and childless.
She took vows and founded the Congregation of the Virgins of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, erected in 1627, giving her goods and her life to educating poor and orphaned girls, who became her family.
The miracles
She was beatified in Kraków. The Dicastery's biography does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.
Why that counted as sanctity
A young widow who made poor orphan girls her family.
