Who they were
Adèle de Batz de Trenquelléon was born in 1789 into a noble family near Agen in south-west France. With Fr William Joseph Chaminade she founded the women's branch of the Marianist family, the Daughters of Mary Immaculate, taking the name Mary of the Conception.
She died at Agen on 10 January 1828, aged 38.
The miracles

A Marianist sister was diagnosed in 1997 with cancer at a terminal stage. Through Mother Adèle's intercession the cancer went into lasting remission.
One more approved miracle is needed for canonisation.
Why that counted as sanctity
On 5 June 1986 the Church declared that this life showed the Christian virtues to a heroic degree, and gave the title Venerable. The case of an Italian Marianist sister was examined by the Church's doctors and theologians and approved as a miracle on 4 May 2017, opening the way to beatification. Beatification followed on 10 June 2018 by Cardinal Angelo Amato, for Pope Francis.
