Who they were
Brother Juniano Alberto (Alberto José Larzábal Michelena) was born at Irún, in Gipuzkoa, on 4 February 1893, and made his perpetual vows as a Brother of the Christian Schools in 1921. He taught and directed several schools and later edited the magazine Vida y Luz in Madrid. He was killed in Madrid in 1936 together with his fellow Brother Luis Victorio (Eusebio Angulo Ayala).
Pope Benedict XVI declared him a martyr in 2011, and he was beatified at Tarragona on 13 October 2013 with his companions.

One of sixteen De La Salle Brothers killed in Madrid in the religious persecution of 1936-1937, beatified as martyrs in 2013.
