Carmelite priest, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
Anastasio María Dorca Coromina was born on 31 December 1907 at Santa Margarita de Bianya in Girona, made his solemn vows in 1928 and was ordained priest in 1931; though a member of the Olot community, he was staying at Tàrrega in the days of the martyrdom to preach the novena in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
He was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Benedict XVI, among Ángel María Prat Hostench and his sixteen companions of the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, killed in 1936.
