Who they were
Anatolius, Patriarch of Constantinople, was appointed with the support of the heretic Dioscorus, but proved his determined enemy and condemned him at the Council of Chalcedon.
He died in 458 after eight years as patriarch, it seems at the hands of heretics. The Bollandists judge him a true Catholic and a saint.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
