Who they were

At Apt in Provence, in France, Saint Castor, bishop, who, wishing to explain the monastic life to the brothers of a newly founded monastery, asked Saint John Cassian to compose the celebrated “Conferences” on the ascetics of Egypt.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 21 September as the bishop of Apt who asked John Cassian to write the Conferences for a new monastery.
