Who they were
The decree on martyrdom describes him as curate of the parish of Saint-Bonnet in the diocese of Moulins, born on 15 November 1725 and dead on 14 September; the Roman Martyrology says that during the French Revolution he was thrown, for his priesthood, into a ship lying at anchor off Rochefort and completed his martyrdom worn out by a deadly infection. He was beatified on 1 October 1995 by John Paul II, among Jean-Baptiste Souzy and his sixty-three companions whose martyrdom in 1794-1795 the decree declared.
