Who they were
María Angélica Pérez was born at San Martín, Buenos Aires province, on 17 August 1897 to devout Spanish immigrants, and went to the school of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Garden, founded by St Antonio Maria Gianelli.
She joined them as Sister María Crescencia and at first taught children. Filled with Christian hope, she died on 20 May 1932, mourned by the people who had seen her spend her life for God, her congregation and those most in need.

Insulin-dependent diabetic since ten, she developed acute hepatitis in March 1997 that worsened so fast her life was feared for; at the most critical point, on 2 April 1997, while awaiting a transplant, she was healed rapidly, perfectly and lastingly.
