Delphine of Glandèves
Noblewoman of medieval Provence, known for her charity, beatified by the Catholic Church

Who they were
Delphine, born in Provence in 1284 and orphaned young, vowed her virginity to God. At twenty she married St Elzéar, Count of Sabran; together they took the habit of the Third Order of St Francis and lived in prayer, penance and charity to the poor, keeping her vow, until his death in 1323.
As a widow she sold all her great possessions for the poor and lived at Naples, Cabrières and Apt, bearing great sufferings in her last years without complaint. She died on 26 November 1358.
The miracles
The long-standing honour paid to her as Blessed was confirmed by Pope Urban V.
