Edmund Catherick

Who they were
Edmund Catherick came from an old Yorkshire family known for its loyalty to the Catholic faith and was probably born in Lancashire about 1605. Educated and ordained at Douai, he went on the English mission about 1635 and worked for seven years under the name Huddleston.
Arrested in the North Riding, he was condemned at York with Father John Lockwood. The king briefly stayed the sentence but then signed the warrant, and on 13 April 1642 the two priests were dragged through York on a hurdle and hanged, drawn and quartered.
