Elías María Garre Egea was born in Murcia on 10 October 1909 and took the religious habit as a lay brother, having begun his novitiate in 1936.
He was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Benedict XVI, among Ángel María Prat Hostench and his sixteen companions of the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, killed in 1936.
