Who they were
Ezequiel Huerta Gutiérrez was born at Magdalena, Jalisco, on 6 January 1876: a married man and father of a large family, a singer and organist with a fine tenor voice, devoted to the Eucharist and generous to the poor. Two of his brothers were priests.
He was arrested on 2 April 1927, having just visited the body of Blessed Anacleto González Flores, tortured in the police cells, and martyred at Guadalajara on 3 April 1927. He was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Association.
