Who they were
Francisco Llach Candell was born at Torelló, near Barcelona, on 7 December 1889, made his religious profession in 1905 and was ordained priest in 1917. He led spiritual exercises inside the prison walls and was killed on 25 August 1936, one of four of this group put to death that day at Vila-rodona. Pope Francis beatified him on 13 October 2013, among the martyrs of Iacobus Puig Mirosa and nineteen companions of the Congregation of the Sons of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
