Who they were
Hugh, son of a Saxon count, took the habit of the Canons Regular against his parents' wishes and about 1115 went to the Abbey of St Victor in Paris.
He spent the rest of his life there studying, teaching and writing, and from 1133 led its school to brilliant success; he was called 'a second Augustine'. He died on 11 March 1141.
The miracles
The Catholic Encyclopedia does not describe how he came to be honoured as a saint.

A great teacher and mystical writer.
