The Roman Martyrology for 19 June records that at London in England the blessed martyrs Sebastian Newdigate, Humphrey Middlemore and William Exmew, priests of the Charterhouse of the city, were imprisoned under King Henry VIII for staying firmly faithful to the Church of Christ, were held chained to posts for seventeen days and completed their martyrdom by hanging at Tyburn.
