Who they were
Iacobus Llach Candell was born at Torelló, near Barcelona, on 1 October 1878, made his religious profession in 1900 and was ordained priest in 1905. He was arrested at Barcelona together with his brother Ramón, thrown into the prison of Sant Elies, and met his death there. Pope Francis beatified him on 13 October 2013, among the martyrs of Iacobus Puig Mirosa and nineteen companions of the Congregation of the Sons of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
