Who they were
Born at Bodecangas on 28 August 1912, he entered the minor seminary of Valdediós as a boy and then moved to the major seminary of Oviedo, where he was preparing for his third year of theology. Pope Francis beatified him with Ángel Cuartas Cristóbal and his eight companions on 9 March 2019.
The miracles
As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
The decree on martyrdom records that these young men were killed because they were seminarians, for reasons purely religious.
