John Francis Regis

Who they were
Jean-François Régis was born at Fontcouverte in France on 31 January 1597, loved study and religion from boyhood, went to the Jesuit college at Béziers and began his novitiate at Toulouse.
A Jesuit priest, around La Louvesc in the mountains near Le Puy he preached the Gospel and heard confessions in hamlet after hamlet, working tirelessly to renew the Catholic faith of the people. He died on 31 December 1640.
