Thérèse Couderc

Who they were
Marie-Victoire Couderc was born on 1 February 1805 at Mas de Sablières in the Vivarais, Ardèche, fourth of twelve children of peasants of few means, and was schooled only between seventeen and twenty by the Sisters of St Joseph at Les Vans.
Not without great trials, but with a serene spirit, she founded at La Louvesc, by the tomb of St John Francis Regis, the Society of Our Lady of the Retreat in the Cenacle to receive women pilgrims to the tomb.
