At Nagasaki in Japan, Blessed Matthias Araki and seven companions, martyrs, who suffered martyrdom for Christ. Their names are: Blesseds Peter Arakiyori Chobioye and Susanna, husband and wife; John Tanaka and Catherine, husband and wife; John Nagai Naisen and Monica, husband and wife, and the little Louis, their son.

Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 12 July as one of the companions of Blessed Matthias Araki martyred at Nagasaki, the husband of Blessed Catherine.
