Who they were
The two lay brothers from Cortazar, Guanajuato (born 1894 and 1897), sheltered and assisted the Augustinian Blessed Elías del Socorro Nieves in his clandestine ministry and were shot with him on 10 March 1928.

The Diocese of Celaya opened its first canonisation cause for them on 9 January 2026; the diocesan phase has since closed.
