José Miguel Peñarroya Dolz, in the world Iosephus, was born at Forcall, in the region of Castellon in Spain, on 3 December 1908 and entered the Hospitaller Order of St John of God by perpetual vows on 8 September 1935. He is named in the decree on the martyrdom of Mauricio Íñiguez de Heredia Alzóla and twenty-three companions of the Order, killed between 1936 and 1937, and he was beatified on 13 October 2013 by Pope Francis.
