Juan José Orayen Aizcorbe, in the world Ioannes, was born at Osacar in Navarre on 11 March 1899 and bound himself to God by perpetual vows in the Hospitaller Order of St John of God on 10 May 1931. He is named in the decree on the martyrdom of Mauricio Íñiguez de Heredia Alzóla and twenty-three companions of the Order, killed between 1936 and 1937, and he was beatified on 13 October 2013 by Pope Francis.
