Priest of the Diocesan Worker Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
Lorenzo Insa Celma was born at Calaceite, in the province of Teruel and the diocese of Tortosa, on 18 June 1874, was ordained priest on 30 May 1901 and joined the Brotherhood in 1902. He taught in the seminaries of Zaragoza and Córdoba, and he was shot at Tortosa on 2 September 1936. Pope Francis beatified him on 13 October 2013, among the martyrs of Joaquín Jovaní Marín and fourteen companions of the Brotherhood of Diocesan Worker Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
