Who they were
Luigi Boccardo was born at Moncalieri on 9 August 1861. His eldest brother, Blessed Giovanni Maria Boccardo, was his godfather and paid for his studies at the seminary of Turin.
He founded the Sisters of Jesus the King, a contemplative branch of blind sisters within the Poor Daughters of St Cajetan, the congregation his brother had founded.
