Luis María Ayet Canós
Carmelite priest, missionary in Puerto Rico and Venezuela, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
Luis María Ayet Canós was born on 25 July 1886 in the town of Villarreal de los Infantes in Castellón; after his solemn profession in 1917 he worked in Puerto Rico and in Venezuela, and when the persecution broke out he was staying for a time at Terrassa to prepare the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
He was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Benedict XVI, among Ángel María Prat Hostench and his sixteen companions of the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, killed in 1936.
