Who they were
Maria Acutina Goldberg, in the world Helena, was born at Dłużek on 6 July 1882 and made her perpetual vows in 1917; she was killed at Lubiąż, near Krzydlina Wielka, on 2 May 1945 as she tried to protect the girls in her care from the soldiers. She was beatified on 11 June 2022 at Wrocław by Pope Francis among Maria Paschalis Jahn and nine companions.
