Who they were
Maria Paschalis Jahn, in the world Maria Magdalena, was born at Górna Wieś on 7 April 1916, made her first profession in 1939 and nursed the sick, children and the elderly before being moved to Nysa in 1942; obeying her superior she took refuge in what is now the Czech Republic, where a Russian soldier shot her on 11 May 1945. She was beatified on 11 June 2022 at Wrocław by Pope Francis among Maria Paschalis Jahn and nine companions.
