Who they were
Narciso Sitjà Basté was born at Sant Andreu de Palomar, near Barcelona, on 1 November 1867, made his religious profession in 1883 and was ordained priest in 1891. He was seized in his family home and died forgiving his killers. Pope Francis beatified him on 13 October 2013, among the martyrs of Iacobus Puig Mirosa and nineteen companions of the Congregation of the Sons of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
