Who they were
Novatus was the son of St Pudens and brother of Sts Pudentiana and Praxedes; his grandfather was among St Peter's first converts in Rome.
He is commemorated on 20 June with his brother, the martyr Timotheus.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
