Who they were
Pudentiana (Potentiana) and Praxedes were martyrs of Rome of unknown date, buried in adjoining graves in the catacomb of Priscilla. Later legends make them daughters of Pudens, a disciple of St Peter, and connect Pudentiana with the ancient title-church of Pudens, the 'ecclesia Pudentiana', now Santa Pudenziana.
