Who they were
Pamphilus, of a noble family of Beirut, sold all he had and gave it to the poor. He studied at Alexandria, then settled at Caesarea, where he was ordained and founded a famous library and school.
He gave himself to making accurate copies of Holy Scripture. He was martyred in 309.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
A scholar-priest who gave his wealth to the poor and his life for Christ.
