Who they were
Josif Djidjov was born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, on 19 July 1919 to zealous Latin-rite Catholic parents. An Augustinian of the Assumption, Father Pavel, he was ordained in Plovdiv on 26 January 1945.
With his fellow Assumptionists Kamen Vitchev and Josaphat Šiškov he was unjustly accused of treason by the atheist regime, imprisoned as a Christian and put to death in 1952.
