Religious student of the Sons of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
Pedro Roca Toscas was born at Mura, near Barcelona, on 7 October 1916 and made his religious profession in 1933. Setting out for Rome to finish his studies in theology, he was thrown into the prison at Manresa, and he died on the road to Sant Fruitós de Bages on 12 April 1937. Pope Francis beatified him on 13 October 2013, among the martyrs of Iacobus Puig Mirosa and nineteen companions of the Congregation of the Sons of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
