Who they were
In the monastery of Cava de' Tirreni in Campania, Saint Peter, who, having followed the monastic life from his youth, was elected bishop of Policastro, but, weary of the clamour of worldly life, returned to the monastery, where, having become abbot, he wonderfully renewed its discipline.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 4 March as bishop of Policastro who returned to Cava de' Tirreni and renewed its discipline as abbot.
