Who they were
The decree on martyrdom describes him as parish priest of Saint-Christophe in the diocese of Limoges, born on 26 July 1747 and dead on 13 August; the Roman Martyrology says he was held in a prison ship off Rochefort in France for his priesthood during the French Revolution and died worn out by hunger and sickness. He was beatified on 1 October 1995 by John Paul II, among Jean-Baptiste Souzy and his sixty-three companions whose martyrdom in 1794-1795 the decree declared.
